We are less than two weeks away from AEP and it is time to complete your 2020 Mutual of Omaha product training, if you have not done so already. Below I will guide you on how to locate these modules in the Mutual of Omaha portal and give you a few tips along the way.
Step 1
After you receive your Welcome Letter from Mutual of Omaha (MoO) go to the SPA Agent Portal.
You will be prompted to Sign-in. If you have not created an account yet click on Sign-Up to make one. Use the Producer Number provided in your Welcome Letter.
Step 2
With access to the portal you can now click on Training and Compliance.
Scroll down until you see Required Training under Protect Your Business.
Click on Required Training.
Step 3
The following page will show you all the different product training. Pick the appropriate one and follow the prompted steps.
For this tutorial, I will show you how to complete the Medicare Advantage Product Training.
After you click on Medicare Advantage Training, which is under Medicare Solutions, you will be prompted with the following page:
You must first transmit your AHIP.
You can do this by clicking on AHIP Training. This page will take you to the official AHIP website and ask you to Sign In. There, you will click on Transmit Mutual of Omaha.
After you have done this, go back to SPA and click on Product Training. This will take you to mutualofomaha.litmos.com. It will look something like the picture below.
This site is neat and organized because it tells you exactly what training to do and which ones you’ve already completed!
As you can see above, those trainings will show up in Litmos if you are contracted for PDP. You can also access them directly by clicking on Prescription Dug Plan Training, instead of Medicare Advantage Training. See picture under Step 3 for clarification.
Step 4
Once you have started the courses, you will notice they are in a slideshow format.
You will have a test at the end for both the Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Training where you must score 85% to pass within three attempts.
Pro Tip: If you are having problems with any question, you can easily open a new tab to re-visit the slideshows while you are doing the exam.
Important Note to Agents
- Product Training and AHIP are required to sell MAPD products.
- Make sure to do the 2020 Trainings to be RTS for AEP.
- Only do the 2019 Trainings if you plan to sell before AEP.
